Dear Parents,
I'm so sorry this is going out so late! I've spent the week with family just outside of St.Louis.... I hadn't planned on being SSOOO far out in the country you couldn't get internet!? Who knew that was still possible these days! I hope you all had a great week of enjoying each other and learning new things! Our class is working hard to build a trusting, positive class environment so all students can flourish. In creating a caring classroom community, we continue to deepen our connections to each other. My hope is that all students will feel nurtured, respected, and have a sense of belonging so they will be able to grow and learn to their full potential. Mrs.Zagorski enjoyed meeting with you to discuss your child's progress thus far. This conference provided an opportunity for us all to work collaboratively to set goals for this school year. It is a team effort! We missed Spanish this week due to pictures. We will make up or Spanish time soon. Thank you to PTA for providing this wonderful program to our school. The fall library enrichment program has begun! Again this week, students will show their progress toward reading all the required books. Just like last week, students must show me their library form on Friday. Please send in any magazines that you don't mind getting cut up. Our class will need the magazines for a text feature project next week. Thank you in advance. Remember to start collecting new and gently used denim for our fourth grade Denim Drive. We are hoping to collect at least 300 items this year. What a wonderful way for us as a grade level to come together and work to give back to our community! This year, all academic subjects will have two components- a RRISD mandated part (formally a CBA) and a teacher created assessment. Your child's final grade will reflect the combined scores of the two tests. I can only send home the teacher created portion of the test. Thank you to the fifth grade parents for the wonderful Friday Feast. I heard it was quite yummy! . Next Week's Learning: Math: 2 Digit By 1 Digit Multiplication; Factors and Multiples Reading: Non-Fiction Text Features Spelling: Lesson #2: Synonyms Sheet due on Wednesday, Test on Thursday Writing: Key Components of a Personal Narrative Composition Social Studies: Map Skills Upcoming Dates: October 12 - No School - Staff Development October 28 - Denim Drive launch Have a great weekend. Spend quality time with those you love! Megan |
