Happy Birthday Viba!! Good afternoon, Parents! What a fabulous week of learning we've had! Your students should have come home this week with information regarding the Dead Word Funeral. Here is a sample picture of a previous student's work. There are several items at the dollar store this time of year that may be helpful in your child's constructing/crafting of this project. *Follow the guideline for the project on the bright orange sheet that came home this week. *Don't forget to put a kind phrase about the "dead word." DENIM DRIVE
Sadly, our classroom service project, the Annual Denim Drive, will come to a close on October 17th. These new or gently used denim items will be donated to the clothes closet that serves the families of Round Rock. If you have not yet done so, please take a few moments to go through your closets and find items you find suitable. Thank you for all your help promoting and supporting this classroom enrichment opportunity. THANK YOU Thank you so much for your continued support. Many of you have donated the $12 to our classroom fund to sponsor our parties and various activities throughout the year. Another huge shout out to the families who have volunteered to bring in pumpkins for Pumpkin Math. I couldn't do this without you. I appreciate so much and am overwhelmed by your continued generosity. BBQ LUNCH Several of you have RSVP'd to the cafeteria letting them know you will be attending the CCE Cookout on October 31st during our regularly scheduled lunch time. They will be serving hamburgers and grilled cheese (for the vegetarian option). Hopefully, weather permitting, we will be able to find a nice picnic location under the trees. There will also be tables in the cafeteria if the Great Outdoors don't appeal to you! STUDENT COUNCIL Information regarding the students serving as a class representative to Student Council went home on Thursday afternoon. Students must have the permission form and their application returned to me no later than October 20th. At this time they also need to have prepared a brief one minute speech to give to their peers stating why they would be a good representative for our class and why they want to be a representative. Our class will be able to vote by secret ballot for one girl and one boy representative. Character Trait of the month is..... Accepting.
