Dear Parents,
We have had another great week in fourth grade. I was out on Friday with Hudson - he had a nasty ear infection. Nothing is worse than your baby being sick! With that in mind, I will continue to wipe down surfaces each evening to help keep the illness out of our classroom. Be sure, as will I, to reinforce the benefits of frequent hand washing. Education Galaxy: Students will be switching to the READING portion of Education Galaxy instead of math for homework next week. All students should have already taken the pre-test. They will follow the same directions as the math to find their unique learning path for reading. Of course, students can always work on math! Valentine's Day: Students can bring their Valentine cards and decorated box starting on Monday. Please be sure each card is addressed to individual students. Your child might want to make a valentine for their reading buddy too. Night Writes: February Night Writes have been explained and are due on February 26th. Students should consult my notes for improvement. Writing a well written expository composition is a skill that will serve your child well in the future. Think... college essays :) Thank you for your support on this. Bob Bullock Museum Field Trip: Our trip to the museum is March 1st. We are at the museum from 9:30-1:50. This is the only field trip that chaperones are necessary. Thank you to the parents who have already said they are willing to volunteer. I still need at least three more parents to volunteer. Chaperones will need to purchase their tickets and provide their own transportation. If you are interested, please let me know, and I will send more information. Thank you for your consideration. Upcoming Dates: February 14- Valentine Party at 2:00 pm February 23- Multicultural Fair 5:30 pm February 27- Fourth Grade Musical Units of Study: Reading: continue drama study/ Comics Head App to make retold drama Spelling: Week 14 Worksheet due Wednesday and test on Thursday Writing: Compound and Complex Sentences Math: continue Fractions Science: Water Cycle Thank you for reading this newsletter.
