Dear Parents,
Fourth grade had a wonderful experience voting on Tuesday for President of the United States. A BIG thank you to Francesca for providing the voting booth. The students did not predict correctly as the tally ended up: Clinton 61, Trump 8. Our next genre study is a biography unit. If your child has not selected a book from my library for this project, they will need to show me their book on Monday. This will be the first of the three sources they will need to write this report. One book, one internet source, and another of their choosing. Complete instructions for this project will be given on Monday. They will begin to have nightly homework for this project beginning on Monday - read and take notes based on different criteria. Due to this, they will not have reading logs, but I will be checking to see their progress. We will add their nightly responsibilities to the planner each day. With the temps dropping and coats coming out... please be sure and put your child's name in all coats, hats and gloves. This helps us find the correct owner if these items are left outside at recess or in the lunchroom. All students have selected a mentor poem for recitation at Coffee House Poetry. Please work with your child to memorize the poem. Our class will present their poetry on December 1 from 9:30-10:30 AM. Mark your calendars! This is a not to miss event for fourth grade! Have a wonderful weekend, Megan Units of Study: Reading/ Writing: Finish poetry, start biography unit **No Reading Log** Math: 2 X 2 digit multiplication Social Studies: Native Americans of Texas Upcoming events: November 30: Photo retakes December 1 : Coffee House Poetry at 9:30 |
